Lungworm

Lungworm are primarily found in donkeys. Horses are typically only infected if grazed alongside donkeys, and infections in horses rarely result in the development of egg producing adults.

Size/appearance

Lungworms are slender thread-like worms and up to 8cm in length.

Lungs of donkeys and horses.

Symptoms

Symptoms include a persistent cough and increased respiratory rate. May lead to secondary pneumonia.
